Your Personal Assistant®
answers your incoming calls, and gets crucial calls to you wherever you
are. But our Unified Communications system offers so much more than
that. It's designed with special features that empower your personal
communications in every medium, that make the product efficient but also
very convenient to use. Most of these features can be used in the
voicemail and e-mail interface, and many work with fax capability too.
Now, to explore how these
features put the user in control, click on a topic below.
- Call Screening
Find out who's calling
before you accept the call, then choose to answer the call or have it
sent directly to voicemail.
- Conference Calling
No need to make a prior
reservation. Dial into your account and enter the Conference Center to
create a conference call for up to 24 participants.
- Corporate Directory
You have access to your
corporate contacts from your telephone or e-mail interface, to address
messages, or view and print the contact information.
- Direct Connect
Connects incoming calls to
you directly, without screening.
- External E-mail
Client
You can integrate your
Personal Assistant with several of the leading e-mail clients. Use
your Personal Assistant interface to read and respond to mail from all
sources.
- E-mail Management
Read, send and save e-mail
from all your different accounts from within the Personal Assistant
Message Center. E-mail management options include secure messaging,
standardized responses, a personal signature, and mail consolidation.
- Extension Dialing
When you place an
outbound call for a personal or corporate contact, or use a Find Me/
Follow Me location with an extension, extension numbers are dialed
automatically.
- Fax Messaging
Fax messaging is available via the phone, Web and WAP. You can send
faxes by phone to anyone on your Contact lists. You can create a fax
through your e-mail account, and create a default cover sheet for the
faxes you send. You can read a fax from within your Personal Assistant
e-mail, and forward to another e-mail address or fax machine. You can
even transcribe a fax from a voice message to written text.
- Find Me/Follow Me
Use this powerful feature
to create a schedule that lets callers find you wherever you are, just
by calling your Personal Assistant number. You set up a schedule with
the days and times you are reachable, and the numbers where you can be
reached. When a call comes in, the service dials your reach numbers,
simultaneously or sequentially.
Location Search Schedules
Displays a weekly
calendar of your availability -- you can update at any time.
Temporary Override Location
Schedules
You can temporarily
change your reach schedule from your phone, the Web, or your WAP
device.

- Help
Press 0 from
anywhere in the Personal Assistant phone system to get help from
Customer Support.
- Notifications
Create notification rules
to be alerted when you receive messages from a particular person or
priority. You can be notified about your calendar events and "to do"
list items as the date approaches. You can choose to be notified by
e-mail, cell phone, or alphanumeric pager.
- Personal Address
Book
Your Personal Assistant
contains a contact list that you create, or synchronize with other
contact managers, and update. It's accessible from the Web and phone
interface when you need to send a message.
- Single Number
Service
Your Personal Assistant
number is the only number you need to get practically any message or
important document delivered wherever you are, in the format you
prefer. Your contacts only need one number to find you wherever and
whenever you can be reached.
- Text-to-Speech
Your Unified
Communications system can produce a voice message from a fax or
e-mail. The voice message is accessible by phone, or through a media
player device on the computer.
- Unified Inbox
You can manage your voice,
fax and email messages through a central mailbox.
- Voicemail
Complete voicemail
capability is available for phone messages. You can choose to hear
voice messages as e-mail attachments through a media player. You can
also forward voicemail to an e-mail address.
