SORRY DISCONTINUED
An attractive new product from Siemens who, in order to renew
its already rich range of cellular phones, offers us a very
interesting terminal that is compact and light, with
captivating multimedia characteristics. The Siemens M55
can boast a dynamic and very modern design that captures the
onlookers’ attention. What’s more, as the manufacturer
highlights, there is an exclusive feature: dynamic signals
that light up, showing you at first sight the most important
events, those you shouldn’t miss. The M55 also offers a
display with 4,096 colours, ideal for sending and receiving
MMS messages, Java Wireless technology for many fun games,
GPRS and WAP.
But let’s take things in order. Available in different
colours – Ion, Rhodium, Iridium & Palladium, Rubidium
& Thallium – the new Siemens M55 offers a rich bag of
functions, among which it could not leave out the already
mentioned games, MMS messaging or polyphonic ring tones with
16 tones. The new Siemens M55 is dedicated to fun: in fact,
among the games there are those dedicated to lovers of extreme
sports such as Cliff Diving, Skateboarding and Mountain
Bikini, already loaded. It is possible to update and
personalise the game section of your Siemens also by
downloading games via GPRS. As far as MMS messaging is
concerned, by now offered in series on all the latest cellular
phones, it is possible to send and receive messages
accompanied by photos, images and sounds. The Siemens M55 also
supports the optional QuickPic Camera for taking and sending
your own photos.
As mentioned, the ring tones are a strong point of this
Siemens M55. Thanks to the Cubasis software from Steinberg
supplied, it is in fact possible to act like a DJ, mix your
own music bases and compose your own ring tone to let your
friends hear whenever you receive a call. The telephone’s
audio capacities are completed by the inevitable functions of
voice commands, voice selection, voice memo and speakerphone.
As far as connectivity is concerned, the Siemens M55 is a tri
band GSM terminal, 900/1800/1900 MHz, ideal for those who
travel a lot. The GPRS is class 8 (4+1 slots, able to reach
data transmission speeds of up to 53.6 kbps), while the WAP
browser is available in version 1.2.1. Regarding its size, the
Siemens M55 is quite contained (101 x 46 x 21 mm, in 77 cc of
volume and 83 grams of weight). Nonetheless, the display is
wide enough. In fact, the screen, as we said, is colour, and
can view 7 lines of text, that is up to 101 x 80 pixels. The
battery supplied is Li-Ion 700 mAh, and can guarantee an
autonomy in stand-by of up to 250 hours and an autonomy in
conversation of up to a maximum of 300 minutes.
