With
the lithium polymer 800mah battery supplied, the new UMTS
terminal from Siemens supplies up to a maximum of 250 hours in
standby and 110 minutes of continuous conversation, with 140
grams of weight. Its dimensions are quite generous, like those
of the other 3G terminals available on the market, equal to 136
x 53 x24 mm, in 140 cc of volume. The Siemens U15 will be
available in Satin Green in 16 European countries, including
Austria, Germany, Italy, Portugal and the United Kingdom, in the
next few weeks, at a price that has not yet been revealed.

It’s called the U15, and it is the new third generation
terminal from Siemens. It was presented a few weeks ago at an
international press conference in Vienna. This new 3G terminal
from Siemens is going to substitute the first UMTS telephone
from this German company, the Siemens U10 that is currently only
on the market in Austria. The U15 permits both video calling and
the use of streaming video and audio services.
The telephone is equipped with two VGA video cameras
(specifically to allow for video calling in speakerphone mode or
with the earphone) and 3X digital zoom to capture or film even
the smallest details, though with the consequent diminishment of
detail with enlargement of the zoom. Thanks to a rich suite of
multimedia applications, the new Siemens U15 is ideal for
those who are not only looking for a cellular phone able to
satisfy advanced communication needs, but also a terminal for
moments of playing and relaxing. With 64 MB of internal memory
and thanks to an MP3 player, the U15 allows you to use a
different sound track in every moment of the day. Also, thanks
to video streaming there will be no problems to see the goals of
your favourite team in direct or download trailers from the
latest films. The audio formats supported are MP3, AAC and WAV,
while the video format supported is MPEG-4. Photos can be taken
in VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) or 160 x 120 (MMS), while
films are in QCIF resolution (176 x 144 pixels), 15 frames per
second.
